Makes me think of those drawings where if you look at it one way it is a beautiful lady, if you look at it another way, it is a not so beautiful older woman. Lovely photos!!!!!!!
Yes! I know exactly what you mean. Those perception challengers. I have have to look with one eye at a time to see the different images, jump back and forth.
Awwwww, so kind Carrie and I am so pleased you enjoyed them. I don’t sell stuff. I never was any good at selling, buying is another story unfortunately! 😉 Thank you Carrie & be well my friend~
What a great idea Cindy. This is beautiful! I’ve enjoyed looking into water reflections to contemplate an upside-down world. Thanks for helping me remember that today! ~Lynn

Cindy Knoke with one of her very special and stunning photographic displays and this week it is tree reflections in water.. so if your life is a bit topsy turvy at the moment head over and see the beauty in that perspective.
Fantastic shots. These are the sort of pictures that make almost impossible jigsaw puzzles! The clarity in the reflection really does make you think which way is Up!
I had fun turning the photos upside down. Then I could better dectect the ripples in the water. Our eyes are more attuned to dectecting odd wrinkles in the sky!
Great reflections, Cindy. Have you ever tried cropping in tighter and turning the image upside down? I did this once and really liked the impressionistic feeling to the tree.
I did turn them upside down and the rippling effect in the water-sky was fascinating. I thought when I flipped them it would look like a regular photo. The rippling effect was much more confusing to the human eye that the mirrored upside-down reflections. Interesting, I agree with you Emilio.
I love this! I just saw all of your hawk pictures! how did I miss them I don’t know! My daughter and I keep seeing hawks over our field and so I went to your photos! amazing!!!
Hawks are truly magnificent creatures. I will never be able to watch them enough. I am glad you and your daughter have some to observe. The hawks will know you and after awhile accept you as part of their ecosystem. They like all creatures will be curious when you do unexpected things. Enjoy!
Wow that is so cool. I always wonder if it is the same ones but I imagine they leave and go elsewhere. Seeing those patterns in your pics. was awesome!
Gives a whole new dimension to that saying, a bird could love a fish but where would they live. They could live beside a pond, where their reflections could mingle in the in-between. 🙂
How inventive! Are these from different locations? the trees seem they might come from different climates. The are (as all your photos) stunning Cindy! xo
Awesome reflections. A new and clear perspective on an old cliché, ‘We see through a glass darkly,’ but here, we see through the water clearly, and all of it beautiful. 🙂
Nothing is more delightful than reflections in water. Although hard to pick a favorite, I love the first gold fish one where the fish are sharp contrast to the green leaves and the one where the rock on the bottom left looks like it’s in thin air.
Cooool!
I don’t know what it is that so fascinated me about water reflections. I suspect I like the way it challenges our perceptions of ‘reality.’ Reality is after all a matter of individual perception.
Reflections are one of the magical pieces of photography ~ and these are exquisite shots Cindy. The last one with the koi is my favorite, a blend of both a dream (reflection) and reality. 🙂 Wish you a great weekend.
I agree. Reflections fascinate because they challenge our perceptions of the world. Does a pond only look as people see it, from outside looking down, or can it also be seen from the pond looking up, or laying flat at the surface, or how about underwater? Photography is a powerful medium because it can encourage people to question their perceptions and assumptions. I think this is one of the reasons you and I enjoy it so much, it allows us to demonstrate how the world can be seen in different ways depending upon one’s perspective.

I wonder if the fish hang around in the pond all day wishing they could swim in the trees?
Ha ha ha 🙂

Honored, really. Thank you~

The sun has to be very bright and the water very calm to get that effect. Nicely done, Cindy.
Leslie
You are right and there is nothing like the desert to meet both those conditions.
You take great pictures, we all know that, but this time you have outdone yourself.
Awwww so thoughtful and for you my friend, anything! Thank you. <3

Love it. The surreal light reminded me of Dali, Swans Reflecting Elephants!
Wow thank you, lovely compliment. Dali so brilliantly tweeked human perception which is limited as he showed us!

I’ve always enjoyed taking photos like these with the images reflecting off water. Thanks Cindy!

No they have territories and often use the same nest year after year, so your hawks are getting to know you!
I love reflections. An inverted world across the mirror. Thank you, Cindy!
Thank you more for appreciating Francis~
Gives a whole new dimension to that saying, a bird could love a fish but where would they live. They could live beside a pond, where their reflections could mingle in the in-between. 🙂
Yes, I sense a fairy tale her Brenda! <3
Perhaps you need to try your hand at it. 😉
First I would need to learn to spell here…….. o)
Wonderful! 🙂
Danke!
Cindy, your reflection shots are fabulous.
Muchos gracias mi amigo!
:o)
I never pass up a reflection shot, Cindy. And yours are great. –Curt
The camera seems to love them and make them hyper-real. I love ’em too~
Agreed. Sometimes they make wonderful totem poles. –Curt
Interesting……
Amazing reflections!
Grazie!
Such beautiful reflections! You may have confused the fish though! 😉
What? You never noticed fish swimming in trees before???? 😉 😉
Okay, fine, I suppose I was too busy watching the birds underwater! 😛 😆
A woman after my own hear! <3
They are simply amazing! They actually look like you took pictures on a hot sunny day and turned the pictures upside down. What a great idea Cindy.
I thought the exact same thing until I did turn them around and noticed a slight rippling in the “sky!” 😮
Such crystal clear reflections Cindy. Where is this magic pond? Love how you have the fish swimming in the tree branches.
The pond is in Anza Borrego Desert State Park, which is an extensive desert about a two hour drive from The Holler.
Wonderful reflections captured, Cindy… 🙂
Happy you enjoyed Maniparna & cheers to you~
Beautiful! Love the colors and reflective illusions =0)
So pleased you do and thank you!
How inventive! Are these from different locations? the trees seem they might come from different climates. The are (as all your photos) stunning Cindy! xo
They are all the same pond system in Anza Borrego Desert State Park, but you are right they had different vegetation growing around different ponds.
loved seeing your view of it all…
Absolutely stunning, Cindy — love looking at the world from a pond’s view!!
It’s kind of a fishes eye view too! I wonder if they want to swim in the trees?
Clever and wild pictures, Cindy 🙂
That is nice descriptive juxtaposition.
Stunning.
Mil grazie! <3
I love these! Hard to get reflective images here – the ocean won’t have any of it! <3
Yes, ocean often doesn’t like to share any reflections, but bays do!!
The last Pic could be one of the ITPs Artworks of Richard Lapham 🙂
I am not familiar with him, but I will google him. Thanks for the lead…..
Have a look at his “POP- Art” . Also “John Burst” is quite interesting.
Will do. thank you!
Awesome reflections. A new and clear perspective on an old cliché, ‘We see through a glass darkly,’ but here, we see through the water clearly, and all of it beautiful. 🙂
I am sorry that I missed you comment, from apostle Paul until just now. It is so prescient isn’t it.
Beautiful reflections! 🙂
Mil grazie!
Obviously they have a strong filter to keep the water glass clear 🙂

As a tree lover i must say – wow! And my favourite is the palm trees. They seem to swim free and without any problem at all…
It makes me think, maybe we are the one’s who see the world upside down!
I think that just might be …it!
It explains a lot doesn’t it! 😉
Fascinating photos 🙂
So pleased you enjoyed. I like to tweak perception~
