      1. Yes – indeed I lead a small Group of improvers and try to get the to look at the details of the whole – Our aim is to look at Composition, Content and Creativity – the three ‘c’s

    1. I just wrote about Amsterdam, too. But about the red light district so unfortunately no photos to accompany the post with 😜 I love your photos though!!! Very beautiful and a fantastic city indeed.

    1. Yes, I love these old libraries too, the one’s with multiple levels and ancient books. I always want to explore the books. This was the Rijksmuseum library. Full of studying scholars.

    1. The beauty in the everyday, always around us, just waiting to be noticed. Although I do agree, the bride was far from ordinary. She was a fairy princess who just popped in I think! 😉

  1. I especially love the first shot! Wonderful places are places you can walk & discover things. Amsterdam is obviously one of those places. Thank you, Cindy!

  2. Teapots! I’d love to see a row of teapots like that on one of my walks/journeys. And guess what I have little ornamental dog a bit like the ones in your photo. It’s very old. Belonged to my grandparents. 🙂

    1. We bought two bear cubs from the same artist in Canada. They are looking down on us from on high at The Holler! And the teapots rocked didn’t they……Loved em too.

    1. He just put his hands in his pockets. He was maybe feeling nervous marrying the fairy princess. He was so awesome. Can you imagine what it would be like if the fairy princess happened to see these comments from people all over the world who think she is so beautiful? That would be an truly amazing fairy tale!

  3. What a treat Cindy! Did you just encounter that beautiful wedding by chance or did you attend a wedding there? Either way, how wonderful for them to have you commemorate this moment for all time! Thanks for sharing the beauty of Amsterdam with all of us! ~Lynn

    1. It was purely chance and several amazing things happened. She plunked herself smack dab in the center of the street and had a photographer who was messing around forever with his equipment, so she looked directly at me while I shot her and just beamed. I didn’t want to intrude or I would have found a way to send her the photos. It was a magical moment.

      1. I think she was at the right place at the right time, I just was lucky enough to catch her image, in much the same way that I am lucky enough to know you. I hope you know this is true.

    1. I remember my grandfather going to Holland when I was a little girl and bringing me back wooden shoes which I wore even though they hurt my feet and a traditional Dutch dress which had several pieces and I wore often. I can remember each piece and the lace hat very clearly. Be well dear Sally and thank you my friend for your kind thoughtfulness. <3

    1. Here is my handle, here is my spout.
When I get all steamed up, hear me shout!
I love nursery rhymes! I hope I am entering my second childhood. I look forward to forgetting everything annoying. 😉 😉

  4. Love this, Cindy! That row of teapots really caught my eye, as did that enormous library. And that lovely young woman in pink and the pink-hued bar…gorgeous!!

    1. Like so many wonderful European cities, it is a browsers and photographers paradise, which explains why we both like it so. Be well Rebecca and as always, thank you my friend~

      1. Oh how wonderful! I can’t wait to see your photos. My daughter and I were just talking about San Miguel and all the wonderful, artistically done houses because her friend was just there and I have a book on the houses in the living room called Casa Bohemia. We were talking about revisiting The Colonial Cities. I hope you visit Queretero and stop for lunch or dinner at La Casa de La Marquesa. It will bowl you over with beauty.

  5. You have an eye attuned to the unusual and photogenic Cindy. This is a great collection. I loved the cute pottery dogs, but I especially liked the pottery chooks behind them…

  6. So true – if you open your eyes and really look, the world is a pretty marvelous place. Too many of us focus on what the evening news shows us rather than what’s available for us if we will just observe it.

    1. Exactly! Turn off the evening news. It just makes you feel depressed and powerless. Make your own world and news, and you will feel happy and more powerful, and more able to take on our messed up world.

    1. Thank you for mentioning the purple bar Halim. I loved the brave use of exuberant color and it worked. It was a happy, fun environmnet. Wonderful to hear from you my friend and hope all is well with you~

  7. I love the bike photo, bikes around the world 😊
I also loved the rainbow chairs and pink chandeliers.
I must stop and take more photographs of the everyday your collections are so fabulous and here for you to see whenever you want to reflect.

    1. So thoughtful of you Charlotte. Amsterdam has some huge number of bikes, something over 60% of the population rides a bike daily, over 800,000 people. Switzerland and much of Europe is this way as you probably know better than I. Very impressive both for health, and for air quality. Happy weekend Charlotte and thanks for stopping by~

      1. I probably would have too.
I saw a bulldog chotchkie at a thrift store a few years back & just had to get it. I love it! I have it sitting on a shelf in the family room.
