As fall descends in Yellowstone and the Tetons,
painting the trees golden-yellow,
the elk are rutting,
bugling,
and posturing.
They become so exhausted by all this effort, they bugle while resting!
The calves,
and does,
provide a peaceful contrast!
Cheers to you from the Tetons in the fall~
Beautiful and fascinating!

As Autumn comes in town those in the industrial sites and cities can only dream of the changing beauty of the countryside. For sure they miss a lot.

Look at those mountains, and the trees. This is the natural beauty that Ansel Adams fell absolutely in love with.

Yes indeed. Ansel was a genius. I wonder what he would make of the all the ecosystem destruction since he was taking photos.

I have seen the Rosevelt Elk in Washington up on Hurricane Ridge. Beautiful and a bit smaller than these big Wyomming ones. Do the elk like your donkeys? Or just their food! 😉

I never have Elkhart on our farm thank God. My fences can’t take it. Just down the road in Sequim

Just as well. I can imagine they would wreck havoc with your garden and then during mating season, with you!
