The Holler is humming,
with passion,
and flowers.
Bees buzzing,
pollen floating.
The garden thrums,
with the drum of life.
Cheers to your from our passionate garden. <3
Yes, in that passion means strong feelings/attachment for something/someone and strong feelings often create suffering. Love for example, is both joyous and wonderful, and at the same time makes one prone to terrible suffering. Buddha of course addressed this beautifully. Interestingly the passionflower is named for the passion of Christ.
I can well imagine you will miss the bees. When the passionflowers open, everyone in the garden masses on the flowers, ants, bees, hummingbirds, caterpillars. They are accurately named flowers since they create a lot of passion!
These are the most amazing looking flowers. Funny thing is I’ve never seen one in person. Your photos are so crisp and sharp, Cindy! Wonderful closeups.
They are aren’t they! Fascinating though and the insects are……well passionate about them! Reminds me of Hepburns quote in ‘The Lake’ remember, ““The calla lilies are in bloom again. Such a strange flower….” Dorothy Parker said Hepburn’s performance, showed the breath of emotion “from A to B.” God I love Parker. Passionate about her~ 😉
I didn’t even see the caterpillar until I loaded the pics in the computer. If I had seen him I would have taken close ups of him! He was covered in prickles!
The passion flower is so pretty, those gorgeous colours blow me away. Love that you captured the bees collecting the pollen.
Fantastic photographs as always Cindy.
Liebe Cinda super Fotos und sogar mit Bienen toll so schön einen gemütlichen Sonntag und ein guten Start in die neue Woche wünsche ich dir Klaus in Freundschaft
These are exquisite passion flower photos I’ve never seen! Thank you so so much for bringing beautiful flower and bee picture to us. We have had gray, gloomy, rainy… days, really can use more rain. 🙂
I haven’t seen passion-fruit flowers since a child when I would go out to the vine and pull off a fruit and eat it right there. How I did it without a spoon I can’t remember but I did it! Thank you so much for the trip down memory lane with your gorgeous captures. 😉
Oh, so envious – I have tried to grow them from seeds but was not successful. I think my altitude is too high for this gorgeous vine. Do you get the fruit as well?
Wow wow wow, those bees are just going crazy with passion for the nectar. I bet you get an over abundance of passion fruit after all that bee activity Cindy
Awesome pics. How do you capture such detail? I can even see the bees’ eyes. What kind of camera do you use and telephoto lens? Do you do photo enhancement? Very professional looking.
Wow, thank you. I am a strict amateur, been taking photos for around three years. I use a sony HX300, with a telephoto goes up to 50x with wide angle around 1200mm.
Good evening Cindy – I stand in awe of your artistry, both photographic and of words. Your combinations are beautiful… Thank you so much for sharing them with us…
Have a wonderful evening
Michael

Thank you Cindy! It’s amazing that you can get so many close-up photos of insects that are normally so shy.
Wow, what an incredible series of photos…I love the insight into the tiny world of insects/flowers and beauty that we simply don’t see at time when we walk by in a rush. You have such a great eye for the details and incredible things that bring beauty into our lives. Cheers and wish you a great week Cindy!
Ahhhh, I feel just the same about you. Blogging is a gift when it allows me to meet people like you my friend. We would never have looked at each others photos if it weren’t for the internet and we would have missed each others view of the world. I am grateful I have the chance to see the world through your extremely talented eyes~
Isn’t is amazing the gift of the internet, and really WordPress for us and everyone to connect around the globe. Sometimes that thought is just overwhelming 🙂
If by agressive you mean it spreads rapidly and takes over other plants, that is fine at The Holler as the amount of space out here and difficulty many plants have taking hold, requires more tenacious species~
Hello Cindy! Beautiful pictures! I love the ones with the busy little bees. I’ve been hearing so much about how bees are disappearing so it’s awesome to see them here. 😀
Lovely Cindy! 🙂
Mil grazi!
Very passionate! 🙂
Gardens are! 🙂

Honored and so appreciatve! Thank you~
These are beautiful! Love them!
Happy you do & cheers to you~
Passion is natural…..Passion is okay. ( the root meaning of passion is suffering….and compassion is suffering together) 🙂
Beautiful to see your passionflowers and all the attendant bees! It’ll be a while before we’ll see bees again. Sad but true. 😉
I can well imagine you will miss the bees. When the passionflowers open, everyone in the garden masses on the flowers, ants, bees, hummingbirds, caterpillars. They are accurately named flowers since they create a lot of passion!
Wow…I don’t get to see this in this part of the world. The amazing beauty of nature! ≧◉◡◉≦
Ahhh, life! In all of its fecundity! Beautiful shots, Cindy.
Thank you and most aptly named flowers!
Beautiful photographs! The bees seem to be enjoying the flowers as well.
Yes they pile on the newly opened flowers!
I love this flower!
Passionate for passionflowers! Good for you~
These are the most amazing looking flowers. Funny thing is I’ve never seen one in person. Your photos are so crisp and sharp, Cindy! Wonderful closeups.
Oh I would love to send you some. They are creating lots of wonderful fruit now too~
Fruit?
Yes passionfruit! It is delicious and makes great jelly or you can just eat it off the tree~
Spectacular photos!

Congratulations! Amazing.
Ohhh so kind and most appreciated!
Those are such wonderfully weird flowers, Cindy. 🙂 –Curt

Such exotic flowers and quite exquisite with the bees and caterpillars visiting! 🙂

Merci beaucoup!
Great shots there Cindy! The bees are terrific and no doubt they give you some delicious honey. The flowers of course, beautiful. Great post!
Happy Turkey Day to you in gorgeous France, Lea! When my mother lived there after WWII, she cooked TG each year for her neighbors. They loved it! <3
She lived here and left? I just cannot fathom… Yes, it is gorgeous here and I can’t imagine being somewhere else willingly. 🙂 Enjoy your holiday! xx
Laughing….but she will always love France!
And why not?
The flowers are gorgeous Cindy.
So happy you like them Ranu~ <3
Don’t blame the bees. It does look like something good to eat. 🙂 Perhaps a fancy salad from one of those fancy restaurants I never go to.
Laughing…..I never go to fancy restaurants either anymore. They bore me. Give me a dive with great food anyday!
I want to sit on a stool at the counter with a Hot Roast Beef Sandwich. 🙂
I’ll meet ya…..
Liebe Cinda super Fotos und sogar mit Bienen toll so schön einen gemütlichen Sonntag und ein guten Start in die neue Woche wünsche ich dir Klaus in Freundschaft

Hugz back 2 U 3!
These are exquisite passion flower photos I’ve never seen! Thank you so so much for bringing beautiful flower and bee picture to us. We have had gray, gloomy, rainy… days, really can use more rain. 🙂
Grazi Amy. We desperately need rain. I am getting resigned to perpetual drought. The unirrigated trees are not happy at all.
Beauty and light. Thank you. I wish I could send some of our rain your way. I know you really need it.
Than k you! Yes, it is so odd to see places deluged with precipitation, while we are starving for rain.
Very nice pictures and you do have very passionate garden indeed.
Yes indeed, mother nature is a passionate life force~
passion beautifully captured— love it
Then I am glad I posted it!
This is what I love about close ups of flora. It reveals the extraordinary intricacy of there structure and colours. As always, nicely done. 🙂
It fascinates me too…. the close up working of critters and flowers. You see so much more with a camera than you can with your eyes.
So lovely to look at, especially when the temperature’s been in the 20’s. – : )
Eeeeek, stay warm and sit by the fire~

Ohhh, love it so much when photos spark happy childhood memories! Cheers to you~
Lovely details!!
Quite technical flowers aren’t they!
Love your passionate garden. The flower is really unique, what is it?
It is a passionflower. The flowers yield delicious fruit called passionfruit~
Klasse Fotos. LG. Wolfgang

Beautiful images of this gorgeous and most unusual looking flower, Cindy. 🙂
Thank you my friend, loved your angularity shots~
Oh, so envious – I have tried to grow them from seeds but was not successful. I think my altitude is too high for this gorgeous vine. Do you get the fruit as well?
Oh yes, scads of it. Much more than can be consumed. So sorry you can’t grow them. There are lots of plants I can’t grow here either.
So beautiful and I am so waiting for Spring. We can bypass Fall and Winter and just go straight to Spring.
Yes, laughing, and we are waiting and waiting for rain!
Wow wow wow, those bees are just going crazy with passion for the nectar. I bet you get an over abundance of passion fruit after all that bee activity Cindy
Tons and tons! They keep blooming and producing and there are many thousands of bees. Cheers to you Pauline~
What do you do with them all?????
Awesome pics. How do you capture such detail? I can even see the bees’ eyes. What kind of camera do you use and telephoto lens? Do you do photo enhancement? Very professional looking.

Beautiful and so passionate it sizzles 🙂
Gardens are definitey not prudish, thank God!
I’m convinced that these flowers were left behind by aliens. They are among us. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving, Cindy!
Yes I think you are right and the aliens are a force for happiness and good in the world, just like you and your doggies~ <3
Ahhhh…. 🙂

Thank you Amy, it is such a fascinating world down there at the level of the insect. So much intricate detail we miss with our naked eyes~

Like Horton Hears a Who, huh! 😉
Beautiful flower!
Pretty unique aren’t they!
They are not simple and have a lot of small details, shapes and color. This is why I like them.

Thanks for the follow! 🙂
🙂
Passion Flower is a unique plant, but it can be aggressive. You managed to capture some really super shots. Good for you. 🙂
If by agressive you mean it spreads rapidly and takes over other plants, that is fine at The Holler as the amount of space out here and difficulty many plants have taking hold, requires more tenacious species~
Hey Cindy, yes that is what I meant.
Good, then it is in the right place! 🙂
Cheers to you from the passionate garden of my heart! Happy thanksgiving my lady. 💖
Happy Thanksgving to you Sherrie, This is our third together, and not that I am sentimental, but I am! <3 Happy Thanksgiving my dear friend~
Aww bless your heart. Im sentimental too. ❤️
<3
Such exquisite detail! I’ll bet the changing of the seasons is magnificent at the Holler. Keep well and enjoy the upcoming holidays Cindy.
Visa versa @ U X 2 my friend! <3
Hello Cindy! Beautiful pictures! I love the ones with the busy little bees. I’ve been hearing so much about how bees are disappearing so it’s awesome to see them here. 😀
We have soooo many of them. There are bee boxes here now too, about 100 of them!!!
Is that thing ugly, or beautiful, or both?! Hmmm…
My mother thinks it’s ugly……
Mother’s are never wrong. Just ask them, they’ll tell you that’s a known fact.
how come my kids don’t believe this???????????
Californias light is obviously fantastic for taking pics ! But, of course, it´s also the photographers eye and talent 🙂
You are right, the light is a huge help as poor light is horrible hinderance!
