  1. Adorable. We have a few families of Canada geese at our lake but no ducklings have made an appearance yet. So I’m glad you shared “yours”.

  2. Great photos. Reminds me of the days when we had ducks and geese. One time a dog killed our mama duck, so we stuck her eggs under a chicken that was sitting on eggs that weren’t fertile. The chicken watched out for the ducklings like they were here own, but the first time the ducklings got in the water when we irrigated, the chicken about had heart failure, and ran back and forth along the edge of the water clucking and flapping at her wayward ducklings.

    1. Oh my! Chuckling….poor chicken. My kids had two ducks. They would fly back home every spring and my neighbor would call me when they arrived in her swimming pool!

  3. I was just rescuing one of my goslings 🙂
he has a hard time getting out of the pool, so I let the water run over and I put a
piece of awning for a slide and swoosh down he goes ….( they aren’t mine
they showed up several years ago to help me with weeds…andthey stayed )
Your photos are WONDERFUL, and I wish I had a lake…
Thank you for sharing, they make me smile

  4. Great series Cindy, ducklings are the best (we had them growing up). The third shot of yours is brilliant, really like the serene and happy ambiance.

    1. Adjectives for ducklings are inadequate. It is so fun when they imprint on a human as you probably experienced as a child. I think that’s a Japanese Maple in the third shot? It added so much color reflected in the lake.

    1. I can see you in one of those chairs by the lake right now Resa, watching the day pass by! As a matter of fact, I wish you and your husband were there right now! Hugz to you my friend~

  5. Cindy this is so wonderful. I worked once where I did security and had to do “rounds” and where my upper level was, I could see the geese protecting their “babies.” I got to watch them grow, and teach the babies how to fly a true experience I’ll adore forever. This is what your photo’s remind me of. Jackie 🙂

  6. Thanks Cindy. After the long, and as yet unfunished unpacking glares unforgivingly at me as I lie in bed (oh yes, dond too much of course) , I finslly have a connection, yours was the first post I received
I think I need ed the beauty and the trsnquility of the scenery snd the innocent joy of the ducklings I may not feel any better but I feel at peace.
    Blessings Susan 💖

    1. This comment couldn’t please me more and you describe it so beautifully, “the innocent joy of the ducklings!” This is it precisely. I am so happy they bring you the same sense of peace they do for me. Cheers to you my friend~

  7. Absolutely IRRESISTIBLE 🙂
And what a wonderful and peaceful place!
Take care dear Cindy, & have a nice week

(Now I’m able to make hearts like you 🙂

  8. What a lovely cabin on a lake. We’ve Canada geese a’plenty in the spring and summer, here in Ottawa. A lovely theme for a photography post, Cindy, and so well timed, too.

    1. Spring has sprung in Canada…..I have never been to Ottawa but I hope spring is springing there as well as I know your winter was hard! Cheers to you give you geese some quacks for me~

    1. Not a one! I have never been bothered by bugs in Canada now that you mention it, but I am not usually here in the middle of summer. Even in Alaska I only encountered bugs on one river out of five trips. I was however substantially bugged by bugs in The Amazon!!!

  9. Looks like it might be north, on the west coast maybe? Too beautiful – thanks for being such a Canadian fan and showing off our beauty. Your pics are truly idyllic.

    1. I bought my husband a t-shirt with a quacking duck on it that says, “Shut the Duck Up!”
I asked him to only wear it at home. Of course he wears it everywhere. People stop him and ask, “What duck?”
      😉

  10. Duckies, duckies! So adorable <3 and such beautiful photos as always.
I had the good fortune to snap some simple photos of baby geese today…hope to share them on my site soon 😀 🙂

  11. Looks like a tranquil place to settle for rest and relaxation, Cindy! Those photos are amazing! the first one, with the reflection captured my attention! I love the little Canadian goslings, soo cute!!

  12. Yes, all the little gooslings around here have also hatched and it’s lovely and tranquil watching them waddle along the waterways and across the streets. Have a wonderful week!

    1. Oh how wonderful! Love them crossing streets. A blogger posted photos of them doing this in Chicago protected by a police car!! Love their priorities!!! 😉

  13. What a lovely place!! I can only imagine the peaceful feeling of spending time in that cabin 🙂 love the reflections in the photos. Great job!

  14. Hi Cindy! So happy I discovered your beautiful blog! I want to transport myself to this gorgeous place, sit on an adirondack chair, while sipping wine as I watch the geese go by. Just lovely! ~Karen~

      1. ACK!! or quack? I love ducks. I had one when I was a kid living in the hotel. I named him Dinky and he followed me around. The menagerie may be nicely balanced but then there’s the question of me! HaHa! 😛

      1. Thank you, my friend. I had 2 big breaks yesterday in pursuing advanced health care for Tom. He’s very ill and I’ve been away from the blogging world trying to stay above water. Yesterday was indeed a great day. NIH has agreed his medical care is so complex they are willing to send 2 physicians to consult on the case and then perhaps actually take Tom on as a patient. I have high hopes.

      2. Excellent news, due I might add, to your diligent efforts as an effective advocate. Once he gets in treatment is there a possibility for a vacation for yourself? You my dear are due from some major TLC and pampering~

  15. Hi Cindy, I will be off to Spain on Sunday. Since it’s such a well packed trip, I may not get to visit you until we are back the second week of June. Happy travel 🙂

  16. Liebe Cindy ganz tolle Tierfotos super gelungen das Glück hatte ich noch nicht Gänseküken zu fotografieren ein schönes Wochenende wünsche ich dir Klaus in Freundschaft
