  1. Hi Cindy … what a way to start the week with beautiful photos of flowers, thank you for sharing them with us … and i am always trying to hold one close to my heart, as God created them to give joy to my soul … have a great week ahead 🙂

      1. With all the complications of life and many thoughts on ours minds, we tend to forget. We have to make a point of stopping our minds and just experiencing our senses. A few good photos are a reminder. A worthwhile thing to do. You have an effect. Have a duck for luck ,….(‘)> 🙂

      2. Thank you my friend! I would love to have a duck for luck and have never heard this before but think it is just ducky! And yes! We must take some time to smell the roses and consider the lillies in the field~

  2. Wow, such stunning pictures, especially the yellow rose! 😀 Wonderful flowers – I can never resist beautiful pictures of flowers, and I get drawn to take them too. They seem to call out to me!! 😉

  3. Complete with Datura/Jimson Weed, I note. Georgia O’Keeffe would approve. 🙂 Do you know the story behind Jimson Weed? It stands for Jamestown weed. Some of the locals used it to give several British soldiers a “trip” they weren’t planning to take. Apparently they sat around naked and drooled a lot. –Curt

    1. I wondered who would know this and I am happy it is you! Such a beautiful and unappreciated plant that grows so ignored in trash dumps and such. And of course it is a potent hallucigenic which also has medicinal properties. I am moving seeds to The Holler. I also like the gourds. Had no idea it was used for combat though!! Fascinating…….

  4. I really enjoyed your photos…I used to snap a lot of floral close-ups myself. The quotes really brought a lot to the post…some I know, some new, but all of them contributed to the pics. It’s like the quotes made the colors more vivid.

  5. Ah, ye shameless hussy…, so ye’d try to be seducin’ myself w’ flowers, would ye now ??? 😉 Beautiful pictures, Cindy, and they are seductive. Life is seductive ! Really like the quotation captions too. Great job, Cuz. Hugs !

      1. Yes we are “at home” but only briefly. ( Wouldn’t it be great if you could drop in for a cuppa, I’m just going to put the jug on…) , next week we fly to Sydney for a week

    1. It surely is and Happy TG to you Eunice! Did you know you recommended I enter the Nature Conservancy 2014 Calendar contest and due to you I made it to the finals!!! I was flabbergasted. I had no thought that I would make it that far! I am a newby! Thank you my friend~
