The Main Lodge
Our rented Trappers Cabin. Really one room en suite with a tiny kitchenette.
Entry.
The interior and exterior details are exceptional. Old shotgun rack.
This is a hand-carved inlaid storage chest/coffee table.
The bed is made of lodge poles with a buffalo light headboard.
The backyard! A good place to chill out and swing and wait for critters to come and drink. You can see the cabin through the trees.
You never know who might amble on by!
Cheers to you from our little cabin in the big woods!
I would like to experience stay in a log cabin. I think it just make you feel much close to the nature with the logs as the wall instead of a flat sheet rock.
The outdoor scene is also fantastic but seeing the bear there concerns me a bit 🙂
I agree with you about the cabin & the bear. I am much more comfortable with coastal grizzlies because they like to eat salmon and don’t hunt as much. Still I was hoping for a sighting!! Cheers to you my friend~
Remove your hooves… L-O-L! 😀
The cabin is so beautiful! The color of the wood, the homey interior and the natural surroundings… this is how I imagine “paradise” to be!
Yes we are in love with the place! Forget palatial showpiece homes and give me a small cabin in the big woods!! Cheers to you Hari~
Oooo, how beautiful–the cabin and the environment. enjoy….
Thank you so much & we are! 🙂
love the sign about removing my hooves 🙂 and the gun rack… husband needs that but a bit bigger… no, i think not. a lovely place… it seems so peaceful. have fun!
Cheers to you & thank you for the good wishes! Happy Saturday to you~
Oh my gosh, how beautiful is that! Is the heating via a log burner?
No theres a gorgeous stone woodburning fireplace. Fires going all the time!!
Cosy!
Amazing views!
They have these stunning views all over Canada. Lucky Canadians! Cheers to you Miriam~
Wow . . it must be great to be able to spend a holiday in there.
We are sleeping so well, in the wonderful woods!
It’s like a backwoods version of the apartment we had in Paris this Spring;-)
Oooh, that sounds wonderful!
Looks nice. Enjoy your stay.
Merci Russel & cheers~
Okay. I’m just plain old jealous! What a wonderful place.
I know what you mean! I find myself fantasizing about living here!
Looks like heaven. Have to admit I’m partial to the idea of a “trappers” cabin. 🙂
I could easily see you here painting!
Wow! Your spot is GORGEOUS!
Thank you! It is a special place~
I was thinking cute & cozy until I saw that bear!
Somehow grizzlies seem cute to me too. I’ve never seen them do anything but graze on plants and berries, and eat fish. If one were to take an interest in me though, I would be decidedly unhappy! lol~
The lodge looks warm enough to stay at such a cool place. I love the view with a bear. 😀
Yes I love the bears and the cabin. The blanket curtains and big stone fireplace are amazingly effective in keeping the place toasty warm!
Ah,… I am wondering if I could come to that place or at least I can find similar atmosphere around here. 🙂
What a dreamy little place! Enjoy!
Yes sleeping so peacfully here!
With a roaring fireplace, I could imagine a lot of reading, writing and perhaps a painting or… 🙂
I think you should book a cabin for the spring. You would of course have to leave France though! lol~
No need! Everything I ever dreamed of and more is right here! 🙂
Lovely photographs:)
Ahhh, thanks for stopping by~
Your secret hideout? I’m yet another step closer to revealing your true identity!
I know! I’m getting really worried you may blow my cover…….
I like your cabin ,Cindy.
I do too & I wish it were mine! Cheers to you ma deah~
Stunning!! A little slice of heaven in the woods.
That perfectly reflects my feelings!
I’m Soooooo jealous.
Well, you could always book for the spring or next fall when the prices plummet!!
Oh my goodness ….. I want to live there forever. That looks absolutely beautiful!
I guess it’s growing up reading Laura Ingalls Wilder or something but I just love log cabins & pine forests!
What am awesome vacation/location spot. Those are the places we go for! Nice and quiet, animals, serenity…. ahhhh.
Thanks for the share!
Amazing how much more relaxing than a posh hotel in a city!
oh my!! this looks soooo beautiful. The air must be so crisp and fresh, so very quiet, no pollution and sounds from the city…… just wilderness.
And crisp, clean water! Visiting magpies with gifts! Who could want more? Still a lovely coastal rental on the coast of Croatia would be wonderful too! 🙂
Perfect place to chill!
And that is what we are doing! Glad we don’t have to chop wood for winter though~
🙂 will you stay there all winter now?
Ykes no! The snow I like is under my skiis!
I like it!
Me three!
I think I could actually sleep through the night there! Sweet dreams.
What a beautiful cabin! Heavenly place!
Just so! I have a serious affection for the place~
That is a wonderful place for rejuvenation! I’d also consider living there permanently.
Beautiful cabin!
Yes the fantasy of escaping to a cabin in the woods is very enticing!
Very nice! Say hello to Mr. Bruin for me.
Will do! He is an awkward adolescent, staring forlornly at the fish he cannot catch~
Tranquilizing–even the the scene with the bear.
Yep! I agree with you~
Wow, do I need to get out of the city…lovely cabin.
A dose of the woods is very good medicine!
It’s a very neat and picturesque cabin, but I hope it’s built to resist bears!
They don’t seem at all interested. I was more concerned when I was in a tent and one was sniffing all around the tent. No more tents for me!
According to Bill Bryson, all is okay with bears and tents, as long as you haven’t got a snicker chocolate bar in there with you 😉
I forgot about his book about Alaska for a moment and remembered his book about The Appalachian Trail. His Alaska book was wonderful~
As beautiful as this little cabin is inside and out – I do believe you’d have a hard time prying me off the front porch! Hot drink in hand, I’d be settin’ a spell until the bears wandered a bit too close!
You’d have a fine time on the porch and would spot lots of critters!! 🙂
The cabin and scenery remind me of Jackson Hole, also a beautiful and tranquil place.
Yes I love Jackson Hole too and the Grand Tetons both in the glorious summer and winter for skiing! They are quite similar in vibe, but it is less crowded here now in late fall.
So many questions but for now (1) salmon in that river? (The grizzly suggests yes!) and (2) how close do the bears get to you (or vice versa)? RH
Yes the salmon are running now! Bright red and beee-u-tee-ful! We give inland grizzlies lots of space. There are many places right now where you are required by law to walk in tight groups of four because grizzlies are active on these trails. We meet the most interesting people this way. Just hiked with a couple who own a wildlife refuge in the Adirondacks complete with wolves, eagles, owls!
wonderful!
Mil grazi~
Delightful visit… THANKS!
So glad you stopped by!
That sure is some “little” cabin in the woods!! Looks amazing 🙂 But do watch out for those bears!!
I wish I had Wolfie with me!! lol~
Looks like a wonderful place and an excellent getaway from the hectic pace of normal life. Thanks for sharing.
Nice and quiet up here!
What a charming cabin, Cindy. I could move in there forever. I love that coffee table. Have fun. 🙂
Cozy!!! What I didn’t include is that there is a jacuzzi tub in this one room cabin. Seemed a little personal, and well a tad gauche. This is my kind of roughing it! A bubble bath at the end of the day! lol~
Perfect! 🙂
Greetings Pioneer Woman! What an amazing getaway – and I do mean get away! 🙂
Maybe I should start my own cable tv show up here? Oh, wait has someone done that???
This would probably be an awesome place to hibernate especially when covered in snow!
It would be beary nice! (sorry!)
silly lady….love it!
The Ingalls have nothing on you! Wow! Or Lincoln Logs, either. Just amazing. The “hoof removal” caveat was uh-DOOR-able!! 🙂
The bear drinking from the water was a perfect, peaceful end shot.
how did you know I liked Lincoln logs????????
What a cute and charming house! And the surrounding outdoors wow are incredible.
I agree with you. Both inside and outside are gorgeous! Cheers to you and happy Sunday~
What part of the country is this in? Beautiful. Thanks for sharing. Great photos.
This is in Alberta Canada. We’ve been traveling through Banff, Jasper, Yoho, Kootenay and Mt. Revelstoke National Parks. Beautiful everywhere!
Absolutely gorgeous! I want to run away to your cabin. Cheers indeed!
I wish it was my cabin!!
This looks so cosy nad warm, with beautiful countryside!
I have nominated you for awards if you do them:

I am honored! Thank you sincerely for the kind acknowledgement!
My absolute pleasure!
I love you cabin, so adorable, like a fairytale – or even a history lesson! 🙂 And your high technology laptop goes so well with all that ‘old world’ log cabin!! 😉
Tad jarring isn’t it?? Thanks much for the nice words & cheers to you~
What a super place to be, Cindy. I could definitely live somewhere like that, you know, opt out heh heh! Great photo’s as always, regards James 🙂
Oh yes!! I opt out as much as humanely possible!! Cheers to you and grazi too~
That is such a tranquil looking place I definitely want to join you now. So pleased to see it has internet connection right in the middle of all that wilderness, amazing…
Tad slow, but I’m not complaining!! There are empty cabins but you might want to wait until spring!
[ Smiles ] The lodge looks well-kept.
Cindy, you really chose some lovely pictures for this post of yours!
Thank you kindly! Most appreciated~
Love the cottage, serene locale, perfectly captured by you!
Merci beau coup Arjun & cheers to you~
What a fantastic find Cindy! Perfect setting ~
Home now and I will always remember it! Thank you Mary~
Idyllic. Thanks for sharing so I could live there vicariously through your nice photos. 🙂
Or you could paint them talented one!
I might just do. 🙂
Wow, it would be hard to leave a place like that! Beautiful! Cindy, I was wondering if you would mind my featuring you and your photos in a post sometime — there are a handful of photographers that have been such an influence and that I’ve learned a lot from that I would like to post about, you having been such a wonderful encouragement and influence to me. I understand and will honor it if you would rather I not, and I do usually try to ask first, lol. Either way, I really want to thank you for all the motivation and encouragement you’ve given me since becoming a blogger!
You have a natural wit and sense of humor that makes your blog a blast and your photography is just wonderful, so it is easy to encourage! I would be honored Becky and thank you for your encouragement! Cheers & hugz~
Beautiful cabin and such gorgeous pics!
How kind of you to say!
Oh my, such a beautiful, peaceful place to have.
It was lovely, even though temporary! Muchas gracias~
Gorgeous Cindy! I’ve been south while you’ve been north…LOL Trading spaces is fun. I think that Cabin is so cute. My friends built one not too far from Jasper. I’ll have to share your post with her.
Lucky friends! Gorgeous country and cheers to you~
Looks like an add for Cabela’s.
Oscar
I had to go look that up! You are exercising my cerebellum! 🙂
Just wonderful photos of this lodge. Such lovely warm colours. Makes me want to go visit there.
So happy you liked this!! merci & welcome!
So beautiful… 🙂
I am so pleased you like it! Thank you my friend~
Okay Cindy forgive the excessive jealousy I’m about to spit! I officially hate you! LOL No one should be privy to that kind of beauty unless they’re residents of Heaven. I’m not even joking when I say, that is the most beautiful place I’ve EVER laid eyes on. It’s been a dream of mine & my daughters to make enough money from our books that we can uproot & move to the West Coast, more specifically Washington State. Although we live in North Carolina, the Smoky Mountains, which is beautiful, we have always loved Washinton. (The Olympic Peninsula). This looks like the pictures we’ve seen of it. So I have to ask you now, where….or rather what state is this Heavenly place? Going to bed tonight & dreaming of YOUR cabin. lol
First off people who are really jealous never admit it. The truth is these photos tapped into a dream you have of an ideal place. This is special and important when it happens because it helps you to visualize your dreams more clearly. I would guess from your response that you yearn for a simple life in the forest, amidst nature, in a cabin that exudes warmth and snugness, and is artfully lovely, yet rustic. I have been in such a cabin on The Olympic Peninsula in the Kalalach area (sp?) It does possess all these traits, a relatively temperate climate, yet rainy and lush.
This particular cabin was in Alberta Canada in the Bow Valley. It does get hard winters.
Dream and dream some more. It focuses your conscious and unconscious energies. If you really want it, you just may very well get it!
Here’s hoping you do!!
Okay, Cindy – that’s it. I want to be there. Seriously – please let me know the name of this place, state, country, etc.?
Here is a link. We stayed in the trappers cabins and fell head over heels in love with it. It is in The Bow Valley in Banff National Park. There are hikes, wildlife and lakes to explore all around you. Heaven indeed! Hope you enjoy~

Thank you – I’m on it!
sigh..maybe I can simply travel in your pocket, I like where and how you travel. =^_^=
Cindy where was this, hubby came to look and we both love the idea
Here’s a link to the cabins. They are in Banff National Park in the wildlife rich Bow Valley. I hope you both go!!!

wow, this is such a relaxing site…I wish I had a cabin. I am working on my college degree to better my education. I need more than 9.00 an hour. Bless you Jackie
We all need a cabin in the woods!! Good luck with your degree…..Lots of work but worth it. Bless you too & sleep well~
Cindy, this cabin is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing! Veraiconica
It was a wonderful sojourn there! So glad you enjoyed it and cheers to you~
Quite a nice little cabin.
