The roadrunner is a serious people-watcher. It is a consuming hobby for him. He goes people watching for several hours every day at The Holler and we will find him watching us at the oddest times, like early morning when we are sleeping, or eating breakfast, and when I am at my computer. (Please click these photos to enlarge and see Beep-Beep much better!)
The roadrunners probably have people-watching meetings where they discuss the best time to observe humans, and have agreed it is early morning when humans are sleeping or eating, or mid-day when they sit for a long time at their computers.
You may want to embrace the notion that animals are watching us. I have yet to focus my telephoto on some wild creature that isn’t already watching me, no matter the distance. If I can spot them, they have already spotted me, and are actively watching me. Sometimes it’s disconcerting!
The best thing about roadrunners? They eat spiders and rattlesnakes and even though they watch us, they don’t post unauthorized photos of us on their blogs!
Cheers to your from the all the Beep-Beeps at The Holler!
